Putting It Together
It Really Is Easy - Don't Be Discouraged!
This series of articles was not meant to make you want to go crawl into a hole and die. All of the tools and materials are available from a great variety of stores at prices that would make other hobbies seem to be only for bazillionaires. This hobby is supposed to be fun - and is - so take it one step at a time at your own pace. You may finish your first model in a few hours and wished you got a more complex model, or it may take you several weeks.
Resources For Plans & Help
A great resource for help and possibly even getting a free copy of a plan is a local model airplane club, you may find them in your phone book directory or town events/newsletter. Most of the enthusiasts that go to these clubs are interested in control line or battery operated RC airplanes but some do models as a secondary hobby. Unless you get a very complex plan for a starting project then you shouldn't have any troubles at all. If you do have problems or still need some advice then a simple Google search will get you some online forums with many helpful and experienced members who are always eager to help others.
Leaving The Beginner Title In The Dust
It really doesn't take that long to learn from a few basic models to gain enough experience to take on larger and more complex models but just remember not to move along too fast - it's not worth screwing up on $150 in materials and then giving up. The next step may be to move on to an actual RC model airplane if you like building something you can fly and crash but it's all up to personal preference. In the future we will include some more article on how to build working model airplane and locate parts dealers for this category. I hope you enjoyed this article series and found it helpful, comments and criticismscritiscms are appreciated at admin@model-airplane-plan.com, thanks again for stopping by!
