What Do I Need? We suggest you read our article series "Skill, Plans & Kids" but heres a brief summary. A model airplane plan is the schematic or blueprint of how to build a model airplane. A plan will show you the dimensions of objects you need to cut out and the process to piece it all together. Most wooden airplane plans can actually be used with any material that can be cut and shaped. The materials can be bought at hardware stores like Home Depot and even Wal-Mart depending on what you want to use. Most airplane plans will list the materials you will need and it really isn't hard to find them in stores or even online! You can even make an RC model airplane out of these plans but those parts are harder to come by unless you get them on the internet. I suggest eBay (check out the results!), I found hundreds of motors and propellers that were ready to be put together.
